Since you're all so very interested, today I'm going to devote myself to my paper on our future president Pembleton. Oh yeah, and go to class. I'm really not a big fan of my film/video class. Mainly because of its structure. Should have taken it pass/fail. Or something. Oh, well. This is the last Tuesday from hell I have to deal with.

Saw The Uninvited last night. The film involved the deaths of an inordinate number of babies. But it wasn't bad. Also, liking my job less and less. Who schedules the same person to open every single day?

Ugh, tell me about it. And the dumbass who closes never does anything properly and leaves bowls of ramen lying around for me to discover the next day.

My favourite thing to discover in the morning is the notes like I received today.

'Leah, the safe didn't balance last night so you're short eight hundred dollars. Also, I lost all the paperwork for the gift order. Have a good day.'

I was tempted to kill everyone on sight.

Oh my God. I work at a student-run thing, so the incompetence is kind of a given...at Starbucks everyone would have been taken out to the back and shot.

I'm tempted some days.

We have so many customers that are really, really, really old. They're the worst things to deal with in the morning.

[identity profile] 3pipeproblem.livejournal.com 2004-04-20 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, don't get me started on customers.

"Do you want cream?"
"No."
"Are you sure you don't want cream?"
"Yes."
Upon receiving the drink: "...where's the cream?"

I've had a customer throw a punch at me. Actually, he was more of a shoplifter.

Then there was the time security shoved a guy against one of our glass doors and it shattered and I happened to be standing on the other side ...

[identity profile] 3pipeproblem.livejournal.com 2004-04-20 01:46 pm (UTC)(link)
They should really make the doors out of the glass that doesn't shatter. The stuff that windshields are made of.

[identity profile] bohemian--storm.livejournal.com 2004-04-20 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
They're not supposed to shatter, that's why it surprised me. I guess they hit a weak spot.

Old customers are the worst customers in the world. Particularly rich, old people.

[identity profile] bohemian--storm.livejournal.com 2004-04-20 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. Old women think the fact that they're spending lots of money turns me into their personal shopper.

[identity profile] beechball.livejournal.com 2004-04-20 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. I also hate the people who are convinced that they're our most important customers because they buy a paper back book and think they can get special treatment. Hell, I'm a better customer than them.

[identity profile] bohemian--storm.livejournal.com 2004-04-20 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
The "regulars" are the worst. They use that as an excuse for everything. "Oh, it's okay that I treat you like crap. I'm a regular."

I so needed to bitch about customers. :D

Speaking of J H Medow... I haven't seen him online in forever. Maybe he's dead... or he got sick of harassing IMs. Of course, he's old, so the former is far more likely given the tendency of old people to be complete luddites.

I really rather prefer the former... and that probably makes me a bad person. But then again, he's a bad person too.
