And I Return (or: Things to do in California when You're Dead Tired)

The trip was nice, for the most part. Some of the people got to be very annoying, particularly the youngest girl there who got the impression that I was her bestest pal and kept telling me stories that were beyond boring. She was harmless enough, though.
I loved how the whole team talked about each other behind their backs. I seriously think the only thing I had in common with three of my rommates was water polo and our hatred (more annoyance for me) of our other roommate, who was kind of bossy.
We ended up going out to dinner twice. On both occassions, half the group wasn't hungry, so we sat at some restaurant at 1 AM Chicago time and played bomb. Yeah.
On the up side, we won most of our games, and I found a candy store at Huntington Beach that sold British candy! And lots of it! In my luggage right now I have bona fide "fruit flavoured fizzy sweets"! They had Crunchies, Smarties, Wispas (not sure if that's the correct plural), Flakes, and Cadbury's, of course. They also had digestive biscuits (kind of like circular graham crackers), baked beans, pickled onions, and cans full of mushy peas that I considered buying but decided not to because I'd already spent $7 on candy.
I saw The Hulk, and I really liked it. The camera/editing techniques made it look extremely cartoony, and for a movie like X-Men that would've pissed me off. But it worked out fine, because the Hulk is so far beyond suspension of disbelief that Ang Lee could've had him pulling Crouching Tiger stunts for all I cared. But anyway, I liked it because it focused on the characters. There aren't any big actions sequences until the end, when I kind of had to leave (had to meet up with the group). For once, I related to the female lead in a movie. Too bad her name had to be Betty Ross, but I can live with it. She was actually in the movie a good amount, and she was smart, and compassionate, and knew what was what. So that was a nice surprise.
I don't know if Eric Bana has any acting skills to speak of, but his eyes are certainly nice.
I also liked the scene where three dogs were BRUTALLY MAULED. Sick little puppy dogs!
Oh, and I want to write a Beecher/Keller story set in the universe of Chicago (saw it for the third time on the flight to Santa Ana). Keller is Billy Flynn, Beecher is Amos. Kinda weird that Keller is the lawyer, but rather appropriate given the times and the corruption.
