Hahahaha, ok. Gentlemen, behold! The playlist meme from two months ago. Hopefully the fact that it's free music will make up for the delay.
Waitin' For A Superman-The Flaming Lips (asked you a question/I didn't need you to reply/is it gettin' heavy?/but they'll realize/is it gettin' heavy?/well I thought it was already as heavy/as can be)
Because they rock, Iron & Wine also did a cover.
All Systems Red-Calexico (nothing changes here and nothing improves/all say my friends who just want out/and leave these troubles behind/scatter like paper in the eye of the storm)
Holland, 1945-Neutral Milk Hotel (he didn't mean to make you cry/with sparks that ring and bullets fly/on empty rings around your heart/the world just screams and falls apart)
There should be a happier song in here, but World War II kind of took over.Which is very IC for WWII.
I See Spiders When I Close My Eyes-The Boy Least Likely To (I've got nothing to panic about/so I panic about nothing/I won't buy grapes/I check the sell by dates/I only eat fruit out of tins)
Biggest Star-The Elected (all my dreams came true, you should know/so if you see her, would you tell her so?/they're gonna know me at the bank/I'm gonna eat my meals for free/and when she sees me, I can't lose)
Millions of Peaches-Presidents of the USA If you watch TCR, you'll get this. If not, you're looking at me funny.
Oh, I have so many.
Cars and Telephones-The Arcade Fire (I read the pages about me/in her autobiography/they were brief and to the point/a flash, while you are getting dressed/a memory that needs to be repressed/I'll just wait until it's over)
Wonderful Remark-Van Morrison (that was a wonderful remark/I had my eyes closed in the dark/I sighed a million sighs/I told a million lies - to myself)
Jockey Full of Bourbon-Tom Waits (bloody fingers on a purple knife/flamingo drinking from a cocktail glass/I'm on the lawn with someone else's wife/admire the view from up on top of the mast)
There are actually reasons other than the flamingo line that I find this appropriate, but I won't go into them now. Los Lobos did a cover.
So that's what, 3/6? I may do more, but Holmes and James Leer are impossible, in that I know exactly the kinds of songs they should have and those types of songs are not in my itunes library. At all.
