Name a character and I'll give you three or more "facts" from my personal fanon about that character. If it isn't a fandom I know anything about, I'll make something up.
I have so much Alan fanon. I'll try to pick things that might not come out in TM.
1. He applied to Harvard undergrad and was rejected (perhaps one day I will recreate his admissions essay). He didn't bother to apply to Harvard Law, although he was tempted to do so just so he could tell them where to stick their offer of admission. 1a. Spent an inordinate amount of time in college playing (in various states of sobriety/undress) Risk with members of the history department. It's like D&D for pseudo-intellectuals!
2. He hates himself for it, but there are moments he's grateful his wife died. It denied him the opportunity to ruin their marriage.
3. Canonically, when he was sixteen, he slept with his best friend Paul's mother. Canonically, she later saw a psychiatrist because of this. Fanonically, the shrink requested that Alan attend a session. It went so badly that Alan's been suspicious of psychiatry ever since.
Bonus: When they were very wee, Paul's father read Something Wicked This Way Comes to Alan and Paul. The boys fought over which one of them would be Jim Nightshade and which would be Will Halloway (both wanted to be Jim, of course).
1. Of which part? He really wanted to go to Harvard. That part is tragic! Except for the essay, which I'm sure was a) the product of many hours of effort b) absolutely not what the Harvard admissions board wanted to see, and c) hilarious.
2. The sad thing is...that way of thinking is sort of his attempt at optimism. Where most people would tell themselves, "she's in a better place" (although I'm sure Alan's tried that; he just wasn't terribly convinced), Alan tells himself, "well, our marriage would have gone to shit eventually."
Hmmm, none of those involved Denny. I need more Alan & Denny fanon, clearly.
1. Oooooh, perhaps I shall. (Hahaha, I was very pleased when Alan turned down the offer of hallucinogenic tea, because I had a little bit of fanon backstory worked out involving college, drugs and night terrors.)

2- *nods* Oh, Alan. I need a drawer to put all the little piece of my heart Alan has chipped off! (That should be the title of a really bad emo song)
