Let's hope this was just SFS (stupid freshman syndrome)

Today I went was forced to attend a "welcome" lecture. It was an hour and a half, which I thought was a bit long, but I figured I could survive. It turned out to be OK; the faculty were really funny and very eloquent (except my advisor, who ended up searching for words a lot, but he has the coolest area of study and I have a crush on him and I hope he never gets this address). HOWEVER, we freshmen also got to speak. There are some really stupid people in my school. I didn't notice it before, I guess because my roommates are cool and the Illinoisians at our gathering were all fairly intelligent. Two people interrupted the Dean of Students. For no good reason. How inconsiderate is that? And then they basically repeated what other people had said. It was as though they needed to speak to validate their existence.

And it was so boring I was tempted to gnaw my arm off just to break the tedium. Plus, it gave me a migrane.

But now I've recovered and I'm going to see Seabiscuit. This time I have good seats, because the theater has stadium seating and I already bought my ticket. Maybe I'll write Charles/Tom when I get back. Don't mob me all at once, eager fans!
