Well. That final was underwhelming. Very similar to AP Psych last year (now I just have to hope my TA grades like Harris). My TA informed me that I write like someone who's read a lot of theory. I suspect Ferrari and El Senor would disapprove. And I haven't read a lot of theory. But I'll take it as a compliment and over the summer try to get out of the habit of using the passive voice so damn much.

Now I have to edit my film...and that's it. Lovely. For some reason the prospect makes me nervous.

How long of a film is it? Out of random curiousity.

[identity profile] 3pipeproblem.livejournal.com 2004-05-05 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I have 2 hours of footage, but it needs to be 3-10 minutes (it's a documentary, so that's pretty normal).

I think we filmed over 17 hours of footage for an hour long film ...

Is the editing a major pain in the ass? I'm still not sure if I'm doing honours acting next year or taking a double major of film and acting.

Not really...it's just that the building's across campus and it's hard to get time. And the program only runs on a Mac.

People bitch about it so much at my school, so it's kind of turned me off it.

[identity profile] 3pipeproblem.livejournal.com 2004-05-05 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah...it kind of has nothing to do with filmmaking. Just how you use the program.

[identity profile] bohemian--storm.livejournal.com 2004-05-05 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I assumed it'd be the same one we do. The only problem with our lab is that the monitors are all ridiculously screwed up, so you never know what colouring is right.

...you have to actually take filmmaking classes as part of the major? We don't.

Intro to film, filmmaking I and filmmaking II all have to be finished in order to graduate with the film degree.

I think history of film is thrown in there too. You don't have to take any filmmaking classes for a film degree?

[identity profile] 3pipeproblem.livejournal.com 2004-05-06 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. History, analysis, some foreign film classes...

[identity profile] bohemian--storm.livejournal.com 2004-05-06 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I don't know what else is required, but I do know the two filmmaking classes have to be completed.

Why do they feel the need to add the term "pro" to the end of software. It always makes me think of hookers.
