So, the windchill was at -2 today. What did my roommate do? Open her window. Now I have a cough. Coincidence?

Of course, it could also have something to do with my hair freezing as I left this morning.

I had a really good day today. Tuesdays I have class from 10:30-4:30, with a film screening after that, so it's basically like high school all over again. I've discovered that once a week, this is nice. I get to feel useful all day, and then slack off the next.

My french teacher is such a badass. She's so much better than my previous french teacher who, while very very nice and competent, was not a badass in the slightest. Maybe the new teacher paid attention when I wrote "Verbal abuse and constant threats" under "What do you think makes a good language instructor?" on the form she distributed at the beginning of the year. But I tend to think she's naturally a badass. I turned in this lame essay and she not only wrote "This will have to be longer" on it, she also started nitpicking my plot. Okay, I guess it was more of a story than an essay. About you breaking your arm, Brad, although the circumstances are ficticious. Sorry, I had to sacrifice someone and your name was the shortest.

The people in my legal studies class ask the best questions. This also meant that we spent an hour and a half going over the basics of intellectual property. With a bit of international trade thrown in at their behest.

Film 101 is just lame. Film 101 would be the opposite of Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman. And that's about it.

-2????? I get cold when it's in the 60s. Of course, I do live in California.

The weather lured us into complacency a few days ago, but now I hear it's going to snow tomorrow. Thank goodness I only have one class.

You sound like me. Once we hit 40 degrees I'm convinced I couldn't get any colder and that I'm going to freeze to death.

lol Oh the joys of being a native Californian.

So, how'd I break my arm now?

Sledding! On my dad's old wooden sled that I think we've trashed by now. You brought a plastic toboggan and we traded, but you couldn't work the brakes and crashed into a rock. You fool.

All but one of the film classes I've taken have sucked. I don't know why. I want to say I know too much, but I don't ever see anyone having any fun.

And because I have to needle: Any chance Jack Bauer can come out of psuedo-retirement? We could use him now, the poor boy is in such angst because Brittany just quit and left him...

I never seem to enjoy mine either. Or at any rate, I enjoy other classes a lot more. Film 102 last year was the best class I've taken--oh, and my Autobiographical Film class this semester's not so bad. I think I must be taking the wrong classes, but 101's required.

Well, I have this weird off and on schedule whereby I'm busy about all day on Tues and Thurs, and Alan completely controls my mind, but I suppose I could bring him back. What do you have in mind?

[identity profile] divisionvixen.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I've taken a few, and they all seem to want me to play down my level of knowledge and experience. The only good one I had was my high school Cinema as Literature class with my former English teacher, who because of that class became my mentor and like the only person to support my ambitions.

Hey, I hear you on the scheduling. I'm in class all day Mondays and Wednesdays and I work, so it's not a problem, just do what you can. I just think it would be awesome to have him around because he's such an important person in Brittany's life. He recruited her to CTU, he's her mentor, he's her surrogate father, and up until just now he WAS her boss.

Here's what's happened: she was forced to shoot a fellow officer and friend of hers in order to keep him from killing himself. This, added to the fact that she and new CTU agent Eric Weiss got into a huge fight and her own doubts about her ability to handle the ASAC job (Tony gave it up to her about a month ago - he thought she and Jack would work better as a close team), pressed her into resigning. Jack is understandably just shot because they're so close. She's back in town, and the two have spoken, but I think they probably need a longer conversation. I mean, they're family, so yeah.

I can probably explain it in more detail the next time you're on AIM. Hit me up at ShadeEmbry.

Most excellent--will do. It's nice for him to have someone he cares about to RP with.

Yeah, they have excessive history together. As I'm NPCing him now, he's looking for her when she's not there and generally being mental. Ironically, he's on his way to a meeting with the CIA Assistant Director who really, really (it's kinda creepy) likes her work, to try and see if they can come up with a plan to keep her in L.A.

The irony? The A.D.'s played by Spader.

Dude, the fog around here. It's so insane for California. Two days a week I have a yoga class at 6:45, so I have to wake up at 5:30. It's pitch black and really foggy. Of course, it just gets worse and worse as I live in the valley of the Valley, and my college is on top of a hill.
