Name a fandom you know I know and I'll tell you:
1. The first character I first fell in love with
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer
6. The character I would shag anytime
7. The character I'd want to be like
8. The character I'd slap
9. A pairing that I love
10. A pairing that I despise
Reply or I'll feel unloved!
I'd so slap Alan. And he'd like it.

First: Boston Legal (because, yay!)
Second (heh): TM

1. The first character I first fell in love with
Alan. The first ep of The Practice I saw was Alan's second ep and I taped it as an afterthought because it was Spader and my friend had reminded me he'd joined the cast. Then I came home after class (Queer Cinema and Medicine!), watched it and immediately after posted "OMFG I love James Spader's character on The Practice." I didn't even know his damn name. But yeah, that ep has him hiring a friend of his who thinks God speaks to her and the way he interacts with her...he was just so thoughtful and caring (and he kissed her hand!) and he totally laid the smackdown on opposing counsel during a settlement conference.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
You won't believe this, but Denny. I didn't like William Shatner and when I heard he was going to be on the show, I was not pleased. I found Denny to be obnoxious and kind of a stupid character. I really didn't like the whole repeating his name thing. I saw him as a joke character, and not a very funny one.
That changed partially when Alan started liking him, I think (character bleed!) because I was forced to consider why, but also I think the writers made a few changes in the transition to Boston Legal. He's a lot more outlandish, but he can be more serious as well, especially with Schmidt (do you even know who she is?) back at the office.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
I can't think of anyone. There's a Brad contingent that I really don't understand most of the time, but the most-loved characters are Alan, Denny and Shirely, and rightfully so, I think.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
I sort of love Garrett. Except for his hair. I like his eagerness and his sincerity and the fact that he reminds me (somewhat) of the way I write little!Alan. And the fact that he's ridiculously submissive. That said, he can also be annoying.
I really like Lori and Paul. Lori can be hysterical at certain times...there are moments when she can't help but laugh at what Alan's doing, even as she's trying to be all upright and responsible, and she's really the most down-to-earth in a Chloe-from-24 kind of way. She makes...well, not a lot, but a few really tactless/blunt remarks that I find hysterical. And I don't like Paul so much as a character, but he's a good sport, and the guy who plays him is freaking hilarious. Paul's basically the only sane one in the office and his job is to clean up everybody's messes. I sometimes entertain myself by thinking of things from his perspective. His eyes are constantly bugging out of his head and he's always looking like he's going to have an aneurysm.
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer
That doesn't really apply, since they keep doing away with characters too quickly for me to fall out of love with them. I don't like what they did with Tara on Boston Legal--she wasn't on that much, and then only as a counterpoint/girlfriend to Alan. I'm rewatching The Practice and she actually works on cases; she even tries a case, which we never see in BL. She's much more active, whereas on BL she got to be reactive.
6. The character I would shag anytime
Haha. Alan, obviously.
7. The character I'd want to be like
Alan again. Do I have to say why? I don't think I have to say why.
8. The character I'd slap
Alan
and he'd like it.Sometimes I do, in fact, want to slap him.The character who most deserves to be slapped is probably Sally or one of the characters they brought in at the end of The Practice and then fired over the summer before BL started. Hannah Rose or Gina Gershon's character. Ugh.
9. A pairing that I love
Alan/Tara. OTP!! I love platonic Alan/Denny. Oh, Denny/Shirley. Yes.
10. A pairing that I despise
Alan/Sally. I can see the purpose of it, but...ugh. It was so...I did not like Sally at all.

I've seen one episode of BL! Go me! I liked it a lot, and it was insanely awesome. Which is redundant, of course, but, yes. Liked it a lot. =D And, yes, Lori is FUNNY. *g* Can't wait to try catching an episode of it later!

Which episode? What happened?

1. The first character I first fell in love with
Wow, I never realized how redundantly that was phrased. I was in TM from the beginning, so you're going to get a lot of nonexistent pups here.
Well, okay. I loved Alan first of all ;)
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
I never expected to love Jimmy as much as I do now, and I mean this as a compliment. I remember him showing up out of nowhere to Kitty's Seder with that weird icon I could've sworn was of Michael J. Fox and I was just like "...who the hell is that?" But then I started reading his topic responses and I love that he and Alan get to interact and the fact that a character like him can exist in TM, where everyone's hellbent on being the biggest badass around.
And I really didn't expect to end up loving David as much as I did. In the beginning, he was hanging out with a lot of the Seans and Viggos and getting into trouble--I didn't really feel anything in particular for him. Hahaha, in fact, I think Viggo has an UGLY UGLY FACE, so he probably had that counted against him, too. Needless to say, all that changed.
Oh, Aidan grew on me too ;)
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
Oh, I can't do this in terms of TM. Maybe about the pup themself, but not the way they're written.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
I don't think there are hated characters in TM. Hmmm, I dunno.
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer
I have to plead the 5th again.
6. The character I would shag anytime
Hahahaha. Caleb. I would also, for the record, shag Warren and probably Jimmy. Hugh Laurie, who needs to update more, dammit.
7. The character I'd want to be like
Oh, I really don't know. There are too many options. Hahaha, maybe Kermit or Samwise. They're the only pups I consistently read and go "Awww, what a good person/being." (Jimmy makes me do that, too, but I'm trying not to talk about him all the time.) Sam Seaborn, who is long-retired, if I may cheat.
8. The character I'd slap
I would slap Callie--and Alan likes Callie most of the time, but I'm sure Calliemun wouldn't pass up an opportunity to slap him in return. She's so innocent that sometimes I just want her to wake up.
9. A pairing that I love
I looove Jimmy/Caleb. Does it have to be a real pairing? If not, Joe/Alan is the pairing that makes me giggle whenever I think about it. Woody/anyone would make me happy. Oh, Woody grew on me! Which is apparently what he does in canon as well.
I liked Alan/Lilah. HAHAHAAH, Alan-dressed-as-Kirk/Darla/Angelus. That was so cracktastic.
10. A pairing that I despise
Psh, no comment. I guess I can do hypotheticals...involving my pups...nah. Alan/Todd would just be bad.

Okay, you're not allowed to mention that without linking to it. It's a federal offense.

And the whole time we were sending each other e-mails like "Well, I dunno what the hell Alan's problem is, but he likes Angelus" and "Alan is a tasty treat!" It was so amusing.
Oh, and it ends with a Star Trek innuendo. Amazing.

And, oh, I read the Alan/Tara and it was so delicate. And Alan leaving with the 'live long and prosper' sign... gah.

HAHAHAHA. Talk about sentences I never expected to read. He misses her so much. It can be distressing. He's gonna have to tell someone at some point, and it might very well be Jimmy. I apologize in advance.
no subject
He wouldn't mind in the slightest.
Jimmy and Caleb are flying through Boston to get to Japan and staying a while before they hop off to Tokyo. So! On another note, this affords me the opportunity to watch Caleb take Alan to a speed-dating thingy.
no subject
Poor Jimmy cops all the Tara stuff because he's British.
Hahahaha, I think the only experience I have with speed-dating is through The Forty-Year-Old Virgin. That would be great, though.

Hee. It's the price one must pay for having a sexy accent and pale skin.

Tara had a very nice tan.

Yes. You will bow to the mighty sexosity of The Meers. Everybody wants some.

Also, he's the prettiest man I've ever seen.

Other than that, yeah. The thing between him and that girl got to be really stupid, but I enjoyed his threatening to beat up the priest. I have no idea what they're going to do with the newbies, since they haven't been on that much lately, except for Denise. Garrett can be the shoe-shine boy.
