I just got my Philosophy paper assignment.

...the professor basically wants us writing 1st person John Stuart Mill fanfic.

I basically wrote fanfiction for every creative assignment we needed to do in high school English -- for Poe, Chopin, Shirlet Jackson. I liked thinking of it as me conquering the world. Or something.

One of the assignments I had in HS was to write a second chapter for John Gardner's Grendel, which was just out-and-out fanfic. I rocked that. I definitely jacked all my imagery from "The Waste Land" and went from there.
