Good God. Well, as usually happens when I get a moment's peace, my laptop is acting strangely. The fan is really, really loud, to the point where I can't concentrate. Anyone have any recommendations or at least an estimate as to how much this'll take to get repaired?

You definitely want to get it looked at at least. You can usually ask for them to look at it and do a dignosis, then give you an estimate on the repair before they actually DO anything.

But a loud fan is usually a bad sign. That of a failing fan. And you don't want your hardware fried.

Lover your icon, though ;)

Thanks for your help. It's still under warranty, but I hate to go without my laptop for any period of time (especially when I have final papers to write).

Hahaha, thanks. I love Chloe.

Oh god, yes, I know that feeling. Having just finished my diploma thesis (well, except for the last bit of work of formatting *g*)... I'd have HATED to be without my laptop at any of that time!

If you're in Illinois take it to CDW. They charge you a 45 dollar dianostic fee but they also apply it to whatevers wrong.

Oh and also one more suggestion. Buy a Mac!

Apparently the program that's causing it to flip out is itunes, so I dunno if more Apple-related products is the solution.
