In honor of finally finishing Campbell "Let's see if I can keep my hands off Horatio for more than five seconds" Scott's Hamlet. I liked it, but not as much as Branagh's version. Although the Hamlet/Horatio was more pronounced in this one.

And I hope my Queer Cinema professor doesn't hate me for the stunt I pulled on Monday. That would be bad.

So, slept through my alarm today. I'm glad we have break soon, otherwise I'd probably end up failing all my classes (8 more to go. I will attend all of them. I swear.)

I hate missing class, too. The problem is that everything is on the other side of campus and I'm just so damn tired. So as a result, I a) feel incredibly guilty (esp. since I've missed the two classes taught by the professors I really like) b) feel like I have no idea what's going on, and c) feel really guilty (or did I mention that before?). Bleh.

I feel much better now, since my prof apparently doesn't hate me. We had an interesting class, although I felt bad for him because someone was observing and we were all being less than helpful during discussions. And this one kid (not that it was a surprise or anything) kept going on and on and on about random shit that hardly had anything to do with Far From Heaven, homosexuality, or cinema in general. We did watch clips from Pillow Talk and Imitation of Life, which provided some nice context for FFH.

I really need to get work done in these next few days. I have 1000s of pages to read about Genet, who is admittedly fascinating, and 5 papers to write, all of them due in early December. I could conceivably leave on break on the 8th (I think that's the last day of classes) if I finished everything ahead of time, but I don't know if that's happening. The 12th would be nice, though.

So I'm off to slash Frank Whittaker with Roger do work.
