I have my eye on a
yuletide pinch hit that would be a nice combination of familiar and new and exciting. We'll have to see if I get it. *starts writing in the meantime*
ETA: Got it! *panic recommences*
I also saw my requests go out on the pinch hit list, which frankly wasn't that surprising--usually I try to ask for one relatively well-known, easy-to-find fandom, and this year...I forgot. Whoops? Some poor soul is going to have to write fic about either a (long-)cancelled television show, a season of a television show that's not commercially available, or one of two 400-plus-page books. I said "whoops" already, right?
Anyway, if you're reading this, pinch hitter, you are a brave, brave soul. You'll find allusions to a Dear Santa letter in this journal, but I never got around to actually writing one this year (I think if you click the "yuletide" tag, you'll be able to find last year's), so...
First of all, thank you for taking on my requests. You are, as I said, extremely brave. I'll be delighted with anything that captures the tone of the original canon--of course, in the case of, say, Kavalier & Clay, I know that alone is a daunting task. I really enjoy character studies, so a short scene about any of the characters requested, or a glimpse into their backstory (I have a major thing about flashbacks to childhood) would be wonderful.
If you'd like to take my Practice request and make it into more of a Boston Legal request, that'd be fine--more than fine--with me; I adore Alan Shore any way I can get him (well, maybe not bleeding to death in an alley). And as far as Special Topics goes, I love Charles Loren (which isn't to say I don't love and adore everyone else, especially Gareth) and something about him would be great. It doesn't have to be plotty or resolve any mysteries--maybe future!Charles or a look into his relationship with Hannah.
Or! Whatever you come up with. Thanks for writing for me on such late notice, and I look forward to reading whatever you put together!

And besides, Denny was technically on TP.
I love your icon. Even if it's only the back of his head.

And then saw your name, and was very smug, as it was!

...the first had to do with Michael Chabon. I am so predictable.

Have you seen Juno yet? If not, we should go see it! There's a really late showing tonight, or tomorrow. Let me know!
