I'm going to see Matchstick Men again in 48 minutes! And then I have a fic in mind, but talking about fics in my LJ usually jinxs them, so I'll shut up about it. What pisses me of is that so many people are seeing Once Upon a Time in Mexico in lieu of Matchstick Men. Granted, OUATIM is stylish, and funny, and Robert Rodriguez is a god, but you know, if you want stylish and funny and Robert Rodriguez (and Antonio Banderas, for that matter), go see Spy Kids 2. Seriously. There's a reason my alias is Juni Cortez. But Matchstick Men is beyond words. I mean...guh. Run, don't walk to your nearest theater and see it now. Then you can read my fic.
One more thing about OUATIM: Willem Dafoe had literally 4 or 5 minutes of screen time. Come on. And people know him as "the guy who played the bad guy in Spider Man." Jesus. They can't even refer to him as "the guy who played Norman Osborn," because remembering the baddie's name would tax their puny memory too much (although the excuse that some people might not wish to remember any of Spider Man is a valid one). Why can't he be known as "that kickass/really freaky detective from Boondock Saints" or "that guy who got his thumbs cut off in The English Patient" or "the guy who played Jesus" (ok, that might get confusing, especially if they person you're talking to has seen The Big Lebowski) or "that guy who was in that movie with Sam Rockwell" (Light Sleeper, baby, I've seen it!).
I blame all of this on my roommate. Now I'm going to take a shower.
