3pipeproblem: (sweetest friend)
Well, now that I've spent the entire day writing certain irritating things over and over and am nowhere closer to finishing...I'll update.

This town is supremely boring. In fact, I'm probably better served sparing you the details. Today's exciting development was that none of Starbucks' customers were capable of speaking english. We had, and I kid you not, one man come in, point at the counter and say, "I want taste." He repeated it, too, so there was a guy standing at the counter demanding "taste" for several minutes. I also had someone ask if we had coolers. I was like "...for storing cold beverages?"

After work...oh, I did nothing. I can't even find a book to read, so I've decided to reread Kavalier and Clay, at least until HBP comes out.

Speaking of which, I finished

Haunted )

This week's [livejournal.com profile] audiography theme is "the end of the world," which in my sad, pathetic world translates to: "let's find some angsty Alan/Tara songs." (Oh, I also bought Dylan live '75--I'll upload stuff from that later.)

Wise Up-Aimee Mann

Yes, I know I've subjected many of you to rants about having male characters constantly listening to angsty chick music, but...I really like this song. Besides, it's in Magnolia, and the scene it's featured in is just incredible. Magnolia itself is pretty incredible (and Tom Cruise's character gives an interview that reminds me a lot of...Tom Cruise) and funnier than I gave it credit for. It also features the grouchy judge from BL as this asshole who makes William H. Macy cry. ANYWAY.

Peace in the Valley-Alabama 3

This is like country/rap/stuff (yeah, I know), but for some reason it doesn't make me cringe. In fact, I think it's pretty great and have been listening to it obsessively. Because I like crack.

Round Here (Live)-Counting Crows

Very different from the studio version. It's ten minutes long and...man.
