I realize I haven't updated this in forever, although I have been regularly reading my FL. I guess I just felt too tired to write the high-quality, thought-provoking entries you all have come to expect from me (*snigger*).
Hmm, let's see. The school year ended with me getting the one internship for which I applied by virtue of the people who rejected me realizing they had two positions to offer. After that there ensued a mad rush on my part to pack and store my things somewhere on campus over the course of two days, after which I departed to Evanston to play in water polo nationals while writing a ten-page paper about The Year of Living Dangerously (the paper was done before the first game, in which, by the way, I kicked ass. There's something empowering about finishing a paper for good.) I'm still not sure when I'm going back to campus.
Oh, right, nationals. We lost our first two games, which put us in the "why is this team even here" bracket (we did win our third) and meant we had no game on Sunday. So we all partied in the hotel. I did a drunken impression of Jack Bauer that involved slamming one of my coaches against a plane glass window and shouting things in a deep voice. He didn't mind.
A looong time ago I did a Boston Legal-related interview (and was paid! madness!) but I'll give that its own post. Right now I'm chilling--well, freezing--at my house, which has no heating. For some strange reason it's really cold in Illinois. It's not cold in Philly, and my brother tells me it's not cold in West Lafayette, Indiana, either.
Finally, someone on my team was kind enough to provide me with an opening line for my novel: "That was a bad week when I tried to learn how to pole vault."
