Okay, the verb "pads" (to pad?). Remind me never to use it unless I happen to be describing some sort of animal. At this point it's just obnoxious.

It is also appropriate for small children in footie pajamas.

Initially, I liked it. Now that I've seen it used everywhere...not so much.

I'm trying to think of a reason I'd be writing about small children in footie pajamas...

*nods* Every time someone's barefoot and fresh out of bed, they pad. I tend to shuffle fresh out of bed, personally. Though I also tend to put on slippers, because we have pets.

That's the brilliance of it. It's so rare you'd write about it that it's perfectly fine to reserve the word for that use. Although I do like Alan's Batman jammies there. I am assuming they do not have feet, though.
