Funny. That's how I always saw Alan as working. Press exactly the right buttons in the right order and he'll open up to you.
All I seem to be doing lately is spamming with quotes and single-line posts, but I'm technically really busy and my roommate has quite the talent for making me want to kill her/hate the human race.
I saw this movie called Bolivar Soy Yo the other night, about a soap opera start who play Bolivar and ends up thinking he is Bolivar. It was pretty good. The best part was the re-exposure to Spanish. French, I think, has given me a much greater appreciation of Spanish. French is a highly irritating language, although that may just be the textbook, which explains exactly none of the grammatical structures we're learning. Like "en." What the hell? Who teaches pronouns without explaining what they mean? Of course, my French book also features pictures of homeless people and contains a description of Vietnam that manages to make no mention of the Vietnam War, so...

Date: 2005-02-25 05:47 pm (UTC)Our Japanese text book doesn't really do much but give us grammar, which certainly has it's use. Although it has translations that love use parantheticals too, which is just odd.
