So I got a job at this not-for-profit environmental agency (it'd still be paid, though) going door to door and harassing people. All in all I think it'd be a good experience, certainly better than Starbucks, but the hours are 2-10pm, which means: no water polo, no socializing, and no seeing movies during the week. It also means I'd be taking the 12:21 train to Chicago and getting back around 11:30 at night. Basically, I'm going in for training today and then I'm going to have to quit. Why do I feel more depressed after getting a job?

And then I'm going to have to look for another one. *sigh*

Ugh. No way, dude. Let that one go!

Can you do temp work? Or do you have to be out by 2 every day?

well, if it helps, the idea of Alan Shore going door-to-door harassing people on behalf of the environment is fucking funny.

I mean, I know you're not TECHNICALLY Alan, but you carry a little Alan around with you.

Look out for the Manners clan while you're there, 'kay?

Door to door is worse than telemarketing. Just say no. I felt the same when I took a job in November for this evil telemarketing "fund raising" place. There's got to be something better.

Doesn't sound good. I have to start looking for a summer job, since the Writing Center is closed then. Ugh.
