Finally. It's probably a bad sign when a episode involving storylines about sex with cows and clown fear makes me think, "Ah, the show's hit its stride again," but...I think it worked really well. A lot of it depends on how they divvy up the cases, which they did well this time--Denise and Shirley worked well; Garrett and Denny was a good contrast; Alan and Brad were freaking hilarious. Can I just take a moment to squee over their little shoving match?

A short list of things I loved:

-Garrett's submissive tendencies

-Bumpy the cow/Shirley backstory (ok, that slash is probably inappropriate)! She was such a spoiled little girl. And I loved when she put her fingers in her ears and closed her eyes

-Denny. ♥

-scared!Alan and blustering!Alan when he gets back to the office and adamantly denies being afraid of clowns

-Hahaha, Brad mocking Alan. Because who wouldn't?

-Alan telling Denny about his bedwetting. Awwwww. All of Alan's childhood trauma makes me go "awwww" and it probably shouldn't.

I'm not so sure about Alan's assistant. I like the fact that she's not taking crap from him, but her (admittedly few) lines up to this point have been pretty standard. We shall see.

In conclusion, Alan needs hugs.

Next week's (is it on next week?) looks good, too. I think they should divide every ep up so Alan, Denny and Shirley each have a SL and everyone else just shines shoes.
