3pipeproblem: (Jack Bauer goes killing)

So I didn't update at all over my spring break, which had a lot to do with my forgetting the AC adaptor/cord to my laptop and the guy from Circuit City insisting it would cost me $120 to get another when they're going for $10 on ebay. Hm.

Yeah, so didn't do much over break. The highlights were rollerblading, reading Amadeus, sleeping a lot, and...oh, maybe going to Jamba Juice. My mom signed me up to time at a swim meet. This may not sound so bad at first, but consider: 1) I haven't swum in three years because I hate the fucking "sport" 2) Neither of my sisters (who swim, of course) were actually in the meet 3)Timing requires waking up at 7 am on the last day of my spring break and returning home at some time around 1. Also getting soaked while timing heat after endless heat of pointless events and listening to an overzealous announcer (who I think they were paying) I wanted to choke. Oh, and I got in trouble with the head official for writing "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" repeatedly on my timing sheet.

...whine whine whine.

But now I'm back in Philly, have purchased my tickets for the film fest, and feel better. Oh! And I'm reading The Year of Living Dangerously (for a class, bien sur). I'd already seen the movie and my professor said this was one of the rare instances where the movie was better than the book, but man...the book is awesome. We have Billy Kwan with all his crazy dualities, his filing fetish, his obsession with mythology, and then we have Guy Hamilton in all his well-dressed glory, and his love of James Bond novels as a child is practically a plot point. ♥

So that is my source of joy right now. A book about strife in Indonesia.

Oh, I found out that Michael Chabon wrote Wonder Boys after abandoning an unfinished 1500-page novel about building a baseball park in Florida. I want a copy.

...I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to make a baggy-eyed smiley.

It'll have to wait until after class.

Genius, except I bought a branded adaptor and he was trying to sell me a universal one.
