HAHAHAHA. Ynez!mun and I were discussing it in IM.

It makes me uncomfortable enough that I may have to write a fic to explain it. I wouldn't say there was no reasoning behind it, because they hinted at reasons, but it was so abrupt and when you don't even see Alan interacting with the person on whose behalf he's having people abducted...Then at the end when he's all "I don't know what I'm turning into" it would have been better if he'd been talking about a behavioral pattern rather than this one crazy ass thing he did. Seriously, the only explanation I could come up with is "Alan is burned out/losing his mind." I wonder if a n00b wrote this ep.

Yeah, he definitely would. It also makes the end of making fun of Brad for the axe thing :(

Ahhhh. Ooh, now this has to be done. Alan has to start Pretending and Tara has to start Parkering. And the rest of CP&S would get little briefs or phone calls and Denny could be some sort of Gemini and... I know too much about this series for my own good. I am not going to cast everyone in their parts. No, no, nonono.

I haven't talked about it with Karly yet. Usually the style is that C&J go somewhere, Caleb writes a "We've left/We're here!" post, depending, Jimmy does an FYI for the people he knows, and then we just go from there. I'm going to be writing Japan ficlets (already have one started), but so far I've only got Caleb and Jimmy in it, because I've got a good handle, at least, on their domesticity. Alan, I'm a little shaky on.

But, yeah. Do feel free to start writing your own ficlets. I also give you permission to godmod Jimmy if I'm not available or whatever, because I trust you with him.

Haikus would be awesome. Tankas even more so.

seriously - i was barely paying attention to the episode (awww, cute Betty White... hee. ShatnerLove...) when everything suddenly went all *wham* What The Hell?

um...
um...

but i was definitely hoping there'd be a fic in there somewhere from you. because you're fabulous. and because i already did my best to fix the Singing In The Resturaunt thing. (which also highly disturbed me, actually.)

besides which, i've been working on Fruity Chewing Gum forever now. which is sad, since i never intended the thing to be all that long to begin with.

I know. I've been trying to write something explaining it, but...it makes no sense. The best theory I can come up with is "Alan is losing his mind" (which the last episode lent some credence to, but still). I rewatched the scene and it has Alan doing so many profoundly out of character disturbing things--just the way he touches the guy and then when he makes him sign...Not to mention his conversation with Denny at the end. None of it makes sense.

But I shall try to wrest sense from it. It's bothering me that much.

who knows - unfortunately, i was never entirely certain as to where it was going to begin with. (and, bizarrely, it seems to be sliding of its own accord somewhat away from Alan/Melissa and more toward Alan/Denny. sort of.) but there's stuff there already that i don't particularly want to lose, so hopefully i'll find some way to wrap it around to a kind of stopping point. soon.

maybe after i actually watch last week's episode. just watching him breathe always makes me want to write. we'll see.


and i can't wait to see what you come up with. but no pressure.
