Oh my God, the new guy. Jeffrey whatshisface. HATE. The only thing I liked was his hitting on Brad...basically because it gave me the opportunity to IM various parties with the sentence "some guy is hitting on Brad." I didn't think it possible for me to find smugness annoying, but man, his was. Along with his eyes and his sideburns. I find his client infinitely more interesting and appealing, and he's just a nervous wreck of a scrawny redhead (♥). (And Shirley slept with him?!?!?! WTF?)

Also, the new titles...I miss pointing!Alan and the Alan-Denny dancing, but we do have Brad being yanked by the ear, so I suppose I can deal.

As for the girl, I have no idea. During the first half, I thought the writers might be trying, with limited success, to introduce their own Chloe--someone who's super-competent but blunt to the extreme--and then the end kind of ruined that. (And yeah, she's adopting a persona so she can get by at work, blah blah blah, but still...)

Grrrr. Last week was much better.

I'd love to except it was so incoherent in terms of plot I'm having trouble putting it into words.

There was some woman, a redhead, who was an old acquaintance of Alan's... possibly a previous client... she had a son who was, I dunno, some age under ten. And-- seriously, this plot makes absolutely no sense-- I think she was suing Alan because Alan had once said her son had musical talent and she had spent lots of money to get lessons for her son and it turned out it was all wasted because the kid was crap at music.

Except this was sort of tangled up with Alan trying to prosecute some Congressman for something or other, and I think the Congressman was the kid in question's father.

Most of this dream was completely confusing, although I do recall Alan and the redheaded woman ending up in bed (color me unsurprised) and also Alan hiring some other lawyers to win the suit being filed against him. That was really weird because why Alan wouldn't defend himself, I don't know, but maybe he was too busy with the other case. He was really annoyed and brusque and condescending with them too-- they asked him why he wanted this case gone so badly and he was just like, "Because my time is much too valuable to waste on this stupidity." Except he said it far better in my dream and I'm sad because all I remember is bits and fragments.

Woe. T.T
