And on that note...
First of all, thank you for tackling my requests. I gravitate toward obscure fandoms, which means less drama, but unfortunately less fic as well. By writing any of these, you are making me very, very happy.
Second of all, about the request form. Anything I wrote in the "details" section should be taken as a suggestion--to give you an idea of what I like and hopefully jumpstart some ideas. However, if your ideas are better than mine (and they probably are), don't hesitate to run with them. More than anything else, I like a well-told story that's true to the characters, so you can't go wrong with anything falling within that rubric.
If you'd like to make me insanely happy, throw one of the following elements into the fic: a story about one of the characters as a kid, literary discussion, witty dialogue (♥), UST, Bob Dylan references. I also like fic to have a sense of place--I like the setting to play a role. As you may have guessed from my requests and request details, I'm a sucker for friendship and deep loyalty.
And I guess a final note about me being a spazz. When I signed up, I kinda did it in a hurry/didn't bother to reread the rules/did it on very little sleep, so I didn't realize that by selecting certain characters in the drop-down menu, I was binding you to write about all of them. If you write me Boston Legal fic, you don't have to include Alan and Denny and Shirley and Brad--those are just the characters I'm more interested in. You are free to pick and choose. I don't want you feeling like "Crap! I have to find a way to work Brad into this Alan/Shirley story!"
(And if you're writing for another fandom, you can ignore all that.)
Thank you again, and I hope you made it through these ramblings relatively unscathed. If you take one thing away from this note, it should be this: trust your judgment before you trust mine. It's your story. I'm just happy you're willing to share it with me.
