Aug. 4th, 2003 09:01 amStarbucks was great yesterday. We had five people working at once and no customers, because it was raining. So I plunked The Complete Sherlock Holmes down on the counter and just read. Which is not something you're allowed to do at Starbucks. Ever, really. It was amazing. I was there for six hours, without a break (didn't need one, as the whole thing was a break, basically), and it was very relaxing.
Picked up volume one of LXG at Barnes and Noble. Now I can't buy anything for like a month. The funny thing was, my mom asked me why I was going to Barnes and Noble. I replied, "To buy a book." She asked what book, and I must've given her a weird smile, because she said, "Is it a gay porn book?"
Heh. Should've told her I can read that for free on the internet. I just didn't want her to know I was buying LXG, having walked out of the movie and all. It would've sparked a long, exhausting, and above all loud conversation.
I'm working every day this week, except Friday, when I have my physical. A new experience, although I expect I'll like it. I have some workaholic tendencies. Working all the time doesn't annoy me; what annoys me is working once every two weeks. That one shift always seems terribly inconvenient.
Sammi and I watched Sex and the City last night. It was bad, but it was all redeemed by this line:
"Should we be buying pot from strangers?"
"They're not strangers. They're our new friends with pot!"
Oh, and tomorrow's going to be a bitch because I work 10-2 and 3-8:30 and MI-5 is on at 9.
I need to make more Roger Dodger screencaps. I have some really cute (yes, I use that word occasionally) pictures but I don't know how to make thumbnails.
