Clearly, I watched Silence of the Lambs last night. I'd seen it once before, about two years ago. As far as the books go, I prefer Red Dragon. I like Will Graham a lot more than Clarice, just because he's the kind of character I'm prone to liking.

Anyway. Great film. Certain aspects were rather dated (the font, some camera techniques, etc), and it's been imitated so often that I thought some of it might seem tired, but it didn't. The problem with the imitators is they don't bother to create two compelling characters so that the audience can enjoy their interaction. Instead, we get a killer who, if we're lucky, kills people in really gross ways (that's the extent of his development as a character) and a cop who is either a devout family man or a chronic drinker. But I digress. Lecter is indeed a joy to watch. Loved when he imitated Clarice's accent. I had forgotten that I used to quote him when IMing people, so I was really confused (and slightly frightened) when I started finishing his lines for him. Then I remembered.

My brother and I had lots of fun mocking Dr. Chilton and his very gay mannerisms. He's such an annoying prick. And Jack Crawford was pretty hot in that movie. He looked like an older Guy Pearce. Wow, that went from analysis to shallow commentary in record time.

In conclusion, I want to write more Lecter/Will. I will upload my story today. I promise. I just have to go to work now.

And maybe Hannibal and [livejournal.com profile] moomookrymoo should get together. They both seem to enjoy mocking people's footwear. Shoe elitists.
