I'm experiencing massive writer's block over this (one page) essay, so have a post.

Started the day off right by thinking I'd lost my reading for Prison Narratives, finding it five minutes before class in the folder it was supposed to be in, and bluffing my way through the class using my mad Irish skillz (tm) from Irish lit. Yes, I know about the Easter Rising and Gaelic. Apparently no one else does. It made me feel good about myself. It also made me want to slash Stephen and Bloom. I am now ditching the lecture portion of Ethno-Political Conflict (last day of that goddman class!) to write an essay for Irish lit. I can't seem to wake up, though.

Ha! I just checked imdb and the film we watched (Some Mother's Son) did indeed star Aiden Gillen, my Stephen.

This post is becoming incoherent. Fortunately, it's not my essay.

One day I'll write a post in the style of Molloy. That'll be a treat.

From this list you might get the impression that I only listen to the Stones, Nirvana, and Bob Dylan. You would be correct.

And I don't own any damn Beatles albums! Stop listing them!

4. Highway 61 Revisited-Bob Dylan (I like Blood on the Tracks better, actually.)
7. Exile on Main Street-The Rolling Stones (Like Sticky Fingers better, but this one is good stuff too.)
8. London Calling-The Clash (Heh. Of course I own this.)
16. Blood on the Tracks-Bob Dylan
17. Nevermind-Nirvana
26. The Joshua Tree-U2
32. Let it Bleed-The Rolling Stones (Mmm, this one is good.)
62. Achtung Baby-U2 (<33333)
63. Sticky Fingers-The Rolling Stones (<33333333333333333 Brown Sugar! Can't you Hear me Knocking! Wild Horses! Sway! Moonlight Mile!)
107. Aftermath-The Rolling Stones (This is like the most obscure Stones album ever. But ok.)
408. Time out of Mind-Bob Dylan (I love the 300 album jump.)
439. In Utero-Nirvana
467. Love and Theft-Bob Dylan

I wonder how many of these Nick Hornby owns.

I love the Stones and Dylan :)

I'm having that same problem with writing lately...stupid writer's block. Are you taking any film courses? Because I'm having the worst time writing for those lately.

I'm only taking Queer Cinema and Medicine this semester, so it's not strictly a film course, but I just went through this huge saga of having to write an essay on Todd Haynes' Safe. Great film. Impossible to write about.

What film courses are you taking?

Queer Cinema and Medicine? That sounds really interesting. I'm taking Hitchcock (methods in criticism), French Cinema since 1930 and Weimar Cinema (German cinema 1920-1932). Last semester so lots and lots of writing :(

Ha. I had to watch it for class and I might end up writing a paper comparing it to Velvet Goldmine.
